On 21 December 2021, Olinqua and Hills Health Solutions – Australia’s largest supplier of nurse call and patient management solution – jointly announced a strategic partnership to deliver a converged IP based platform that will connect disparate systems and workflows seamlessly in hospitals and aged care facilities.
Arthur Ong, CEO of Olinqua, explained that the partnership will focus on the design and development of both companies’ technology, consolidating features of reassurance notifications and escalation management into a one platform, one workforce solution.
“The Hills Health Solutions and Olinqua partnership will see a contained solution utilising Hills’ nurse call and Olinqua’s messaging integration engine.”
“This solution has already been deployed at Melbourne’s Austin Health and Canberra Hospitals and we are excited to be further supporting our important healthcare workers to stay connected with each other and their environment, empowering them with more time and resources for quality patient care.”
Hills Health Solutions’ technology – a division of Hills Ltd – has been implemented in hospitals, aged care facilities and retirement homes across Australia and New Zealand. The company conducts their product design, research and development and manufacturing at their facility in Port Melbourne, Victoria.
In a media statement published on their website, Hills’ CEO, David Clarke, said:
“As leaders in connected digital health, Hills and Olinqua recognise that healthcare providers are often challenged by the interoperability of health information and communication technology (ICT). Our partnership with Olinqua goes some way to resolve this by consolidating critical messaging into a contained solution.”
General Manager of Sales and Operations at Hills Health Solutions, Feargal O’Farrell, further commented on the media statement:
The collaboration with Olinqua would provide a complete end-to end workflow solution between Hills’ nurse call system and the facilities messaging system, giving clinical staff confirmation that an alert had been successfully transmitted, received, and acknowledged by the response team.
“We believe it will improve the safety and efficiency of clinical workflow, especially in Code Blue medical emergency situations.”
Arthur Ong, CEO of Olinqua, re-iterated the importance of the new partnership to deliver technology solutions that will create smarter, better and safer healthcare for everyone.
“Olinqua’s success has been built on strong relationships with our key industry partners, and the capabilities of our ecosystem vendors such as RTLS technology vendors, collaboration and mobility providers,” said Arthur.
“Together, we deliver solutions that can enhance healthcare workforce safety and productivity, ultimately leading to better staff and patient outcomes.”
“That is why we are working – and will continue to work – with leaders in the health and technology space to create a powerful, scalable, secure and seamless digital experience.”
“We are very excited to welcome Hills Health into our partner ecosystem and look forward to working closely together.”
